Machining Capabilities
The CDS facility is equipped with modern machining equipment, including CNC vertical mills,
horizontal mills, lathes and programmable CMM’s inspection tools.
The capability and capacity to machine a wide range of part types from
small to very large and from various material groups makes CDS an ideal
partner for your machining requirements.
| In selecting our CNC machining equipment, the CDS has chosen to rely
on high speed Flexible Machining Center ( FMC ) technology. These state
of the art installations combine multiple spindles and pallets using a
single control center and offer very significant advantages. CDS has more
than 25 horizontal machinery centers that allow fast response to market demands.

Advantages
- Parts can be scheduled to run unattended increasing the effective
capacity of each spindle
- Part consistency and quality is unparalleled as the “operator
influence” is eliminated
- Tooling for many part numbers is “permanently” loaded
on the pallet
- Each spindle has access to multiple cutting tools
- High degree of flexibility for low volume high mix part output
| In addition to our advanced FMC equipment the CDS has invested
in stand-alone horizontal and vertical machining centers to support
prototype and large size components for the various market segments
we support. |
